“While I want to create something truly beautiful, I also want to explore some level of loneliness and sadness in the art.  I think that truly beautiful art often has some element of sorrow in it. It’s like a prelude by Debussey (whom I often listen to while I work).  It is exquisite, yet behind the beauty there is longing and pain.  It is that contrast of bittersweet that I strive to capture.”
